I launched a patreon back in 2015 and have remained active on it (and had to pay taxes on it lol) from then until now. Having launched it so long ago, it shouldn't be so surprising and overwhelming to see that there's 1,006 posts atm. I made two webcomics over the span of about 7 years as well. One of them was around 320 pages. One of them (which is in hiatus and probably will be until I die) made to 500 pages. I have been drawing since I wsa 8 years old. Thinking about how much art I've made in that time, the size that number must be would be very overwhelming to actually see. Regardless, I still wasn't met with any substantial amount of success in anything. And I never wanted to be the type of artist that spouts rainbow and sunshine bs about working hard and you'll make it, because I was the type that did do that, and didn't. But this isn't a post complaining. Just surprised at the amount of art I've managed (and had to fight for the time to learn and make) over all these years now after seeing this and thinking about it. Keep working at it, studying, learning, and staying curious, and you will improve. That's the only guarantee that's realistic. Chase your dreams, but take your head with you. Regardless of skill or time, there's no promise that it'll ever make a difference for you in the end. Keep a part time job. And enjoy the art you make. If I ever had to speak up about things, I always wanted what I had to say about it to be truthful, responsible, and grounded like that.
